Healthy Homemade Hamburger Helper
Creamy homemade hamburger helper has all the flavors of this classic 90’s dish. Cheesy creamy noodles are mixed with spices and ground beef to create an easy and hearty dinner.

Ingredients

ground beef

I use Jovial einkorn fusilli pasta

shredded cheese

teaspoons
salt

nutmeg
1/2
cup
milk
1
teaspoon
dijon mustard

tablespoons
butter

Instructions
In a large pot or dutch oven, cook pasta according to package directions.
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside.
Brown ground beef in a skillet with minced garlic cloves and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
Melt butter in the large pot the noodles were cooked in, over low heat.
Toss the noodles back into the pot with butter and add shredded cheese. Add in the milk or cream, stir, and place the lid on the pot.
Heat on low until the cheese is melted.
Add in dijon mustard, nutmeg, salt, and eggs; stir well - quickly.Stir in browned meat and garlic. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For extra creaminess, use cream rather than milk.
You may need to add a touch more milk to thin down the sauce. It will depend on the type of cheese you use.
